Off the Queensland coast city of Rockhampton sits Great Keppel Island. Great Keppel offers a totally unique tropical island experience with 17 beautiful beaches, many of them secluded and safe for swimming, acres of natural bushland and 28Km of golden sand. The island is 43 Km in circumference and has heaps of colourful fish just right for snorkelling as have many of Australia's exotic getaways.

Great Keppel is the largest island of the Great Keppel Group, which consist of 14 islands offering excellent marine life and great spots for snorkelling and diving. Other water sports include windsurfing, sea kyaking and catamaran sailing.

Almost astride the Tropic of Capricorn, Great Keppel Island enjoys a sub-tropical climate and near constant sea breezes which combined with the turquoise crystal of its waters creates a vacation escape unique to the region.

The island is a sanctuary to extensive native flora and fauna including more than 100 species of bird life including rainbow parikeets, kookaburras and a diverse range of sea birds. It's accessibility - 20 minutes by air from Rockhampton, 30 minutes by high speed catamaran from Rosslyn near Yeppoon and only 696Km north of Brisbane makes it an exotic getaway which can be reached with a minimum of travel.
